During his visit to Algeria in mid-June 2025, Mr. Stephen Bye, Chief Executive Officer of the global company Ookla, a world leader in Internet performance analysis (Connectivity Intelligence), held a meeting with the CEO of Mobilis, Mr. Chawki Boukhazani, accompanied by the company’s technical and commercial executives.
This meeting was held on the occasion of Mobilis, the leading mobile operator in Algeria, being awarded the Speed Test Award for the best nationwide mobile coverage, with a coverage score of 6.20.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Stephen Bye made a statement to the media:
“It is a great honor for us to be here with Mobilis. We salute and congratulate them on receiving the award for the best mobile network coverage for the year 2024.
Building a network is extremely challenging, especially in a country like Algeria, given its vast geography and diverse terrain.
We applaud them for this outstanding achievement… I say this from my own experience as a former CTO, having built and managed networks for many years before joining Ookla.
We truly feel proud and honored to be here in support of Algeria.”
